Can someone please explain the difference in a pure white sebastopol and one that is white with gray? What is the difference? Are the grays and white more expensive? And price range for both please. TYI!! ;)

The pure white Sebastopols are the most common color. They are also the only APA accepted color thus they are the only color that can be shown in an APA sanctioned show. With being the most common color there are more people that breed whites than colored Sebastopols. And with more people breeding whites the quality is typically better than in colored birds. For the fact that whites have been bred longer.

With Sebastopols I would say the price depends on two things Color and Type. You could have a great colored bird for instance but if its angel winged....it greatly reduces the price. Same as with the curls. A great colored bird with bad curls is worth far less as well. And with in the colors there are price variances depending on color as well. Splash "gray & white" and grays are probably the most common colored birds thus the cheapest. Blues, Saddlebacks, Buffs, and Lavenders are more rare colors and command higher prices especially at an auction. In whites it all depends on quality of the birds. I've seen show quality whites bring even more than some colored birds.

Now down to pricing. It all comes down to what someone is willing to pay really. I've seen people pay twice what a bird is really worth. But if the buyer is happy and the seller is happy then it was a good deal. Sebastopol prices are pretty even throughout the US it seems to me. About $35-$50 for goslings, $100-$150 for mature females, and $50-$100 for mature males. There will always be acceptations of course and a person will find cheaper birds. Typically these cases involve a person selling poor quality birds, excess males, or a situation that they need to sell birds quick for some reason.
