This morning I went out to feed and water my chickens and I noticed one was missing. I have 6 22 week old hens in a pen and 5 others in another pen. One of the 6 hens was gone. There is no sign of entry, no blood or feathers and no digging or tracks. The run is attached to the coop and totally enclosed in chickens wire, top is covered in bird netting and there is another layer of rabbit fencing around the bottom....dug in and bent at the bottom to prevent digging. We don't have any kids so we don't think anyone let her out, but we can't figure out where our hen is. Anyone got any ideas?

Check corners and every place unimaginable. I had a hen missing for a week or 2 so I figured she had gotten out of the coop and had been eaten. I found her in a corner sitting eggs. Boy was I happ she is alive, but MAN is she one MEAN broody! LOL

There aren't really any dark corners for her to hide. I have checked every inch of the coop and can't find any evidence or any chickens

I freaked yesterday when my new babes just put out in their coop last week disappeared. Thankfully I looked up and discovered they'd all discovered how to fly up and roost at the top pole.

I just had the same exact thing happen !
Was away for the weekend, came home and one hen is missing !
Kids are very upset. No signs of entry - no digging - top of pen is covered with wire to prevent overhead entry - no feathers, blood etc. anywhere that I can see. The coop is not large - - no rafters - or nesting boxes yet (working on building them - this is a new flock and not laying yet) - to hide in.
Pen is a chain link dog kennel - with chicken wire around the bottom edge and bent out by 2' and burried. I was hoping a neighbors kid let one out on accident and that she'd show up when it got dark - but nothing.

Any ideas ? I was thinking the same thing - someone stole her !
Or, she got out and the red tail hawk in the area got her

but not sure how she could get out. Could something have gotten in and taken her out so neatly ? And even so, how would it fit through the wire ? the gap around the door isn't large - either. I'm so confused and sad ....
I lock them in their coop at night to prevent night time predators, but this past weekend I had to leave the door open. The coop is raised off the ground, solid bottom (actually, the darn thing is built better than most houses - ) all doors lock and there are no holes.
I'm so confused - and if she did get caught - I hope my kids don't find her remains ....
