I have heart issues and know the anxiety it can cause in your every day life and leave you to lay awake at night in fear. It's unnerving not having a peek in window to your very well being. Mayo will be an excellent place to visit and I'm sure you'll be well taken care of when you go there.

Now I need to address the stress. You don't have to spill the intimate details here but stress is a factor regarding heart health especially in women... I was just told this by a secondary heart dr. I saw yesterday. Perhaps it would benefit you to address the stress.... whether it means going to a psychologist/trist or telling your primary dr. you have stress and whether it manifests itself in depression/anxiety.... and maybe some antidepressants could help. And for the people around you... is there something they can do to help you manage your stress levels?

Just throwing it out there.... whether it be help with some daily tasks? Cook a dinner 1-2x a week? Be responsible for the own laundry? Is there financial burdens? Would it help to plan "family" meetings---this is what we owe, this is what me made, this is our budget, this is how we will pay our bills and the end goal is ? debt free.... If plan A isn't working... discuss plans B and C and when should one of them be implemented...

Is stress job related? Is there a way to minimize that? A meeting with the boss? Possibly look for another job that would be less stress inducing?

But most definitely look into reducing your stress load and following dr.'s orders.
Prayers for good reports and results on your visit to mayo.

hugs and prayers,
gretch

Well, a lot of my stress is related to another health problem so its probably kind of a vicious circle?
Also, living in town gets more and more difficult for me. Thats psychological so I try to make the best of it. However, I have been looking around and when I get a chance to move, I will certainly do so.
There are other stressors as well but all I can do is whittle it down a bit at a time I suppose?
I WILL talk to the doc about this as well, I appreciate your comments on the situation, it helps put things in perspective.
Sheila, hugs right back to you!!

coloradochick, lol, I am trying to prevent having a nervous breakdown that can be heard in the next country. Its pretty spectacular fireworks when I finally "lose" it.

My appointment at Mayo is April 26. Quite a ways out, but I did get on a waiting list in case someone cancels an appointment.
