Please help! 2-day-old Mallard Duckling

Hi guys. She ended up dying. Around 6:10 pm my time. I'm so sad. I wish i could've done more for her. I hate it so much that i couldn't help her properly. I guess she wasn't meant to live. I feel so bad. I just went to check up on her and she didn't respond to me. She was alive just a few mins before i checked.
Maybe i should've seen it coming with the leg suddenly going bad and the brown poop. I kept thinking it was the B complex too but i guess it wasn't. Maybe something went wrong in her stomach. I have no idea. I just don't understand why. And i don't think i want to know why. I'd hate myself so much if i find out it's my fault.
It's pouring rain here. I'd like to think that it's heaven crying for her.

So sorry! She was precious. She needed someone on her side for the short time she was here and you were definitely that person!
 
@Roa I'm so sorry you lost the little one. Please don't feel it was your fault. You were right there trying so hard to help her. Like @MasterOfClucker said some just don't thrive, it's always so sad when we lose them heartbreaking for sure. But please don't think this was your fault you were the best that happened to her you gave her a fighting chance. And look how much you have learned. You want to be a vet, It's sad but your not going to be able to save them all, but with the love and compassion you have you will be giving each one in your care a fighting chance.

Now maybe you should think about going out and getting 2-3 from TSC those poor little things really need a good home you would provide. And they can sure make a heart happy. ❤

Thank you. I hope she was at least happy while she was with me. I did learn a lot. It was painful but it was a valuable experience. I don't know if i can get more tiny guys after what just happened, but i'll think about it ❤ Again, thank you to all of you for helping me and her.
