Please help! 2 month old buff goose can't walk

Okay here goes I have a pet buff goose, he's 2 months old and lives with a pet duck. Friday night I let the dogs in at 8pm duck and goose were in the yard still. Usually a half hour or so after letting the dogs in the goose will knock on the door and I'll put them in for the night. Well by 9pm there was no knock so I went out to get them. The goose was on his back flailing his legs and crying, I swear I heard raccoons growling in the bushes. Not a mark on the goose. Saturday morning I got him into a vet. Since there were no wounds and by his behavior and the sudden onset she thought head trauma. NO IDEA how it could be. Anyway I took him home she said to give it a couple days to see if he'd come through. He keeps flipping on his back. This morning I thought he was dead laying on his back, head under him. But by afternoon I had him propped up on his stomach not falling over and drinking and eating water. Checked on him this evening and he was on his back and had thrown up. The vet is calling tomorrow and discussing euthanasia. PLEASE HELP IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. Baby is a family pet we are heart broken.
