How much does an chick develope from a the time it peeps in the egg to the time it pips? how much yolk is absorbed during that time? how long from the peep in the egg till the the pip usally takes?

They'll come out when they're ready! I usually start hearing peeping in the egg around Day 19 or 20, start seeing pips on day 20 and 21. A chick can take as much as 24 hours from the pip to hatch. They need that time to absorb the yolk.

I'm a firm believer in leaving the bator closed from day 18-22. What will hatch, will hatch.
