So sorry I’m getting confused- what exactly should I do with the cling wrap situation

I'd just leave it, that stuff sticks pretty well, it might be hard to get off without damaging the shell.

Okay is it covered up too much? Also how will I know if the membrane is drying up if I can’t see it

For the next few days, I would listen for clicking and chirping, you may be able to see under the tape with a nice high power flashlight in a dark room. Please keep us posted.

yes but you will be able to see when you candle it. You did good with the tape. Looking at this picture the hole doesn't look quite as big as the other picture made it look.

she's got the tape going pretty far down the sides. I had to enlarge the picture to notice it. Should she maybe cut a bit off the tape that goes way down?

Yeah, I was thinking about that, I might gently lift the tape up halfway, clip it with a pair of scissors, and press it back down.

Okay I’ll keep you all updated- I can’t thank you all enough for your kindness I’ll definitely be back with more questions. Right now I’m just trying to get the humidity high enough it still isn’t nearly as high as it needs to be I have a humidifier running and wet towels so any tips for that would be great too
