Please help ASAP-chicks stuck in egg!

Does anyone know what causes them to get stuck? I am new to this chicken lovin life and I wanted to try to hatch my own but i don't know if I am too paranoid and impatient to make it through it without needing a rubber room!! I am not saying it is anything anyone did wrong, I was just wondering. Thanks

Lack of the proper humidity needed for hatching usually causes this. The membrane dries out too much and shrinkwraps the chick inside the shell. They can't get out on their own after that...it's like having a straight jacket on.

The membrane gets stuck to the chick causing the chick not being able to get out of the shell. And I was just examining the chick and it seems he has an elongated head. Will that effect him in any way?

I have no idea. It could be a birth defect. It could just be that he will look much different when he dries and fluffs up. Don't worry too much until he's dry and walking around.

Give him time to dry...some of mine were down right ugly until they dried. You won't know if he has a chance until you give him one.
