I have a broody hen and going by guessing on when we think she started setting and what they look like during candling I think we are on day 8 or so. This is my first time with candling so I am not about to start throwing eggs out.
First I am concerned that she is setting on 13 or 14 eggs and she can't keep them all warm at the same time.
second, if one is bad will the hen figure it out?
third, I have one I put under her from another hen, at the time I thought I made it in time now after candling some of them it is clearly behind the others in development but obviously developing. will she continue to sit on it if it doesn't hatch at the same time as the others? Or should I get a bator and put it in there?
thanks in advance!!!!
