I love my babies, but I can't have a rooster... I'm praying none are roosters, but I think at least one is. Can anyone help me identify the rooster? I know they are young, hatched on May 3rd... but I am getting very attached. I have a home for any roosters, but I don't want to part with any of them.

This is Wilamena

This is Porsha

How old is your chick? Any waddles/comb? Kinda looks like crazy hair (= roo) to me, but I'm by far not an expert!! Girls will have a nice, well kept, "poof" and boys get consecutive bad hair days, at least that's what I was told... I have my fingers crosses that I'm wrong on your chickies hairdo!!

ETA: oh, more pics!
#1 = see above explanation

#'s 2 & 3 = I'm not going to venture a guess...

OK, last edit I PROMISE!!! On the polish, are it's top-knot feathers growing in and coming to a point or are they rounded? Pointy and whispy would also suggest roo.

Sorry, took me a few tries to get my babies loaded.

They are young, hatched May 3rd...

Wilamena is white creasted polish bantam... both male and female have crazy head... I don't want to give up any of them. I was told they couldn't be sexed... just have to wait and see. I don't like those chances. Didn't expect to get so attached so fast.

Oh boy, if they were only hatched may 3rd, I'd wait and see (I'd probably wait and see, no matter what, just to be completely certain anyway!)... It's so hard to tell, but I know how it is not wanting to have to keep them longer than necessary if you're going to have to re-home them! Good Luck

I kinda thought that Cream Puff is a Roo... oh well... at least I know he will be going to a good home with lots of other chickens.

Thanks.

Okay, two out of three isn't bad... especially when Wilamena is my fav... she has such a personality. I like to let them run amuck in my garden, which is fenced in. They are still living in the house at the moment. My hubby will pick up Porsha and Cream Puff and bring them in the sun room, and when he goes back to the garden, Wilamena is on top of the tomatoe cage waiting for him. All he has to do is put out his hand, she hops on and runs up his arm to his shoulder and rides back to the sun room.

She also calls for me to let her out... she will climb out of her bin... walk into the living room and if she doesn't see me, she will call... and as soon as she sees me, she will run to the sliding doors to be let out... typically heads straight to the garden.

They are very addicting... I never thought I could get so attached. My hubby is in the process of building them a small indescrete home which will blend in with the kids swingset... Can't wait to show them their new house.

Thanks everyone.
