Please help, chick experts!!!! She won't stop crying!

Thanks guys, you guys are so cool for replying with suggestions!

OK, I tried Jody's suggestion of tapping the feeder (I'd only showed them the feed before and she did eat) and it was hilarious to see them all pile over to see what I was showing them. However, she really does NOT like any sort of mama-hen-wing-covering gestures. The other chiks love it, but she just runs away or struggles.

Now shes crying again!

OK, going to try a stuffed animal, although she's got 5 other chicks to huddle with.......

She does look healthy.

We have had several chicks do this to greater and lesser degrees. They all
grew out of it eventually. Did I consider chick soup? Yup.

I completely sympathize with you on this. It's madening. It's like a chollicy
baby (bad spelling).

Make sure she is eating. Try feeding her some yogurt. Some chicks are just very
anxious birds.

Thanks guys. She wasn't interested in the yogurt. I think she seems to be tiring herself out somewhat so maybe she'll get some sleep. I really don't know what I will do if this continues tomorrow, though. I work at home and i have three huge deadlines I am up against. I won't ve able to work if she's crying all day tomorrow!

P.C.... how long did it take before yours stopped howling? I am going to pray that's it's just a short-lived reaction to her travelling ordeal but what if its not? She's depriving the other 5 chicks of sleep and rest, too!

Awwwwww! Poor Baby. It does sound like Mama, Mama, Mama.

I would think she would settle down in a couple of day but the others in the video look like they are pretty fed up with it also!

I wouldn't worry about the other chicks. They will block it out.

We had one that chirped 24/7 for her first week. Most of our
chirpers stopped after a few days.

Keep us posted.

mama mama.

We had sick chicks that chirped but they were lethargic, just sat, and sounded
different from Seachick's little chirper.

Yep but it's more like ma ma ma ma ma ma !

Sounds kinda like my 43 year old did when he was a baby!

Edited to add: Actually he sounds that way every so often now!
