In case you have any white or tuxedo birds you need to sex, it might be worth it to catch them and take a look at their vent. I've been looking at the vents of my buttons every now and then and I'm pretty certain I can see a difference between male and female. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try it in a bird I couldn't already feather sex, but I'm pretty sure I'm not imagining it. It's like the bottom om the vent is more protruding in males - like there is cartilage in the vent making it stick out a bit.Thankyou so much for your help. I know the pics aren't great. I'm trying to pair them. I think I read whites don't have red around vent. Is this the same with tux
I've been trying to get pictures of it, but even with the aid of my boyfriend I haven't managed to catch anything but blur and feathers so I only have the description of what I see
I'm not sure how old they have to be for the difference to show up, but if you can see it in the ones you can feather sex I'd try it on any white ones as well.
