PLEASE HELP! Cull entire flock?!?!

Thanks! Looks like twin cities poutlry supply won't be sending out the vaccine till the 31st! But I will be treating all my chickens I have left and then I am ordering 10 more hens from Meyers with vaccinations at day old. I usually do not put my new chicks in with the adults till 12 weeks. Maybe I can control this diease and get my egg production back! and yes I am praying its been the terrible heat causing all hens not to lay!

You need to practice strict isolation techniques with your new chicks. You will need to shower before you take care of them..fresh clothing, shoes, etc. Then, take care of the rest of your chickens. If you need to take care of the chicks again, it is the same thing..shower and fresh clothing. Remember, Marek's is spread by dander and it will cling to everything. Nothing that is used with the other chickens can come into contact with the babies...

I got a hen and chicks locally, and 2 of the chicks were culled as they lost the ability to move. The rest of my chickens are alright. We still have 10. 5 of the chicks from the very same hatch, their mama hen, a leghorn hen, a buff orp hen who is around 8 months, but is still just getting ready to lay, a silkie rooster, and a large white rock rooster. The birds that were affected was one cockerel, and one pullet around 5 months old. But they had probably been sick since they were around 3 months old. I just felt bad culling them when they were just limping, but when it got to where they couldn't get around very well I had to throw in the towel for them.
