please help dead hen

Sweet hen found dead tonight I am not sure of her age i'm guessing around 4-5 months old I've had her approx 1 month and she had been great . I purchased another hen at the same time same place she seems ok. She was find this morning they have a small pen and hen house, just filled the water up this morning so they had plenty to drink I fed them went out tonight and she was curled up in a little ball in a nest box dead......I'm really bummed she was so sweet and loved being petted just a really great hen! What could have killed her????

With no idea of pre-death symptoms it is hard to know.

ALOT of folks have lost birds to the heat this year. I have lost 3.

I agree with Matt. Heat is a real issue. I lost 2 last week. No symptoms. Just gone. One was a 1yr old roo and the other a 5 month old pullet.

Even with food and water, the heat can take its toll.
