Please Help! First fox attack!

I'm glad you're taking her to the vet. When an animal stops eating the longer they go.without the less they want to eat. See if you can get her to eat a couple bites even too. The vitamins will help give her strength. Even though it's not much every little bit will help her.. Since you have to wait until tomorrow clean her wounds again with a half and half solution of sterile water and hydrogen peroxide. Pour it directly on the wounds. Then take plain sterile water and rinse them u til there is no bubbling or at least 2 times. It's important to get as much infection out as you can. If you put a towel over her head while you do this she should be calmer. Then dry her off well. And let her rest. Good luck. Keep us posted! :fl :hugs

Good News! The boyfriend got home early from work last night so he was able to take poor Elizabeth (I don't think I ever mentioned her name! And for those who are interested she is 1/2 Australorp 1/2 Leghorn and only 9 weeks old) to the VET, he called me up whilst he was there and said it would be $80AUD to help her and a weeks worth of caring for her or they would euthanize her. I couldn't live with myself if we euthanize her especially with such minor cuts, she may have only cost us $25AUD but I just could not say no to giving her a chance. SO She got a good cleaning and they gave us some antibiotics and pain killers to give her, one twice a day the other once a day. When I got home I heard some pecking noises coming from the box and when I opened it she was there happily pecking away at her food

I have learnt a hell of a lot during this experience and your comment and advice have been EXTREMELY helpful, If god forbid this ever happens again and we have modified our pen so it doesn't, at least I now know what to do and can even educate others in my position
