Please help have ? about feeding layer fruit?

I read a magizine based out of Ohio that was saying feeding layers fruit will stop them from laying eggs is that true????????????? It's a Hatchery farm

feeding large amounts of anything acidic will put the brakes on laying. small treats should be okay.
