My hen Ruby (she is 30+ weeks old) has been acting very lethargic for the past two days, not clucking a lot, not social with me which is very odd for her. She is like a lap chicken. I noticed her comb and wattles are turning almost like a purplish grey color? I am new to owning chickens so I have never seen this before. She is a RIR so her red should be very vibrant and bright but it isn't, her comb isn't even bouncing when she runs around or fly's on to something. Her entire color of her body in general is just very dark and dull. When I picked her up today I also noticed she wasn't as warm like she usually is my girls can put off some body heat and I can feel it when I hold them, but today she wasn't like that. Her breast have gotten swollen and bigger fast over the past 2-3 days, when I touched it today it is VERY squishy like a water balloon, its jiggly and bouncy. I compared it to her sister (same age RIR) and her breast is firm but still a little squishy and it is no where near the size of Ruby's. She is eating and drinking fine, she still is free ranging throughout the day. I just really need some help here guys! I can tell you my Mom has a garden with mulch in it....my father just informed me that it is treated!!! Why he didn't inform me sooner is beyond me, but could this make her sick? I have 5 other chickens, do I need to isolate Ruby? Any info would be GREAT! These pictures are recent taken about 20 minutes ago. Oh also she didn't lay one egg today, she has been laying at least one egg for 2 weeks straight (when she laid her first). I am very concerned and upset! Thank you all!

Thank you for responding! It feels like the crop to me. Ive been doing some research online and I also thought of "water belly"? I just got them a brand new Amish made 6X8 ft coop, I clean it every day, they have two windows and a fan for circulation, and the door stays open. There is no aroma odor at all. There feed is always fresh and stored in trash cans, water is changed daily. I just want to know what it is and what I have to do. I am very scared and worried I'm going to walk out one morning and she wont be alive. What is sour crop? How is it treated?
