Please help! I’m at a loss on what to do

I have two mallard ducks which I believe are both females. (That’s is what I was told when I purchased them) Recently one of my ducks has been biting/pecking the other ones neck. Then the other duck has to “square up” and bite/peck back. Sometimes when the one duck pecks the other ducks back she will almost fall forward (almost seems like she lame) the one that is getting peck then becomes more aggressive and will sometimes bite me really hard. I’m at a loss on what to do. I don’t want my duck to get hurt. I’m not sure if it is a “mating” behavior or if she is just being mean. I have done some research but the only thing I have found is that they don’t have enough food. Which I find to be untrue in my case because they have food all day long. Please help with any information. I’m not sure what to do and would love to fix this problem.

Will fighting for dominance end in anything bad? I know at one point I thought one was the “leader” then I thought the other was the “leader so that is possible, I hadn’t thought of fighting for dominance.

Hormones can change their attitudes, hopefully soon it will get under control. They sure are pretty Today one of my female Runners was starting to pick on her sis the Buff, I follow Barny the west coast cockatoo on FB and when everyone heard him whistling everyone stopped in their tracks, picking stopped an never started back so maybe a diversion will help. lol

No, I had the exact thing happen before which my ducks. You HAVE to separate them if this gets worse
