Good evening everyone,

I am new to raising baby chicks but have 6 2 year old ladies that are wonderful.

I brought home 6 new babies to add to my flock this year, and I’m worried my Easter Egger is sick.
She is usually one of my go getters, always first over for treats, investigates everything new. When I got home from work today she was laying in the corner of the brooder tank and did not react much other than lifting her head to look at me. When I reach down she hopped up and ran off with the others.
About an hour later my boyfriend came home and notice she was laying down, breathing a littler heavier and not in any hurry to run from him like the others. I investigated and once again she jumped up and ran off.
She has not been with the others unless they come lay with her. She will stand up and move a little ways then just lay down again.
I may just be over reacting but she is not quite the same little chick that came home.
Any suggestions to investigate would be amazing!
Thank you so much!

How is she lying down? (Wing out to the side with her leg, almost sitting, etc). Can you try and take a photo before you try and ā€œinvestigateā€.

She is laying down mostly normal. Mostly. She does have a wing slightly out to the side, but its not one or the other specificly, and she leans into it, but she does go to the right wing more often. I attached a few pictures. She’s hard to see with the wood shavings. She is the white and grey (which will be obvious with the amount of pics I took. Her two best friends like to photo bomb though)

If she is eating and drinking normally I’d say it’s just her teaching herself to sunbathe. I might be wrong but if there isn’t anything else going on she should be fine. Just a quick question how often does she do it?

What's the temperature in your brooder, and is there a cooler area? What are they eating?
The brooder is about 89 degrees coming to the end of week 2. I have a warmer half with the lamp, food and water about mid way, and then a cooler end with no lamp but a branch for them to jungle gym on. They are eating 24% chick starter and once a day they get some Farmers helper baby cake, but not a lot, maybe a table spoon shared between all 6 of them.

She is eating and drinking. Still has the same general behavior as her brooder mates. She just started between today and yesterday. My sister noticed it a little bit yesterday but I did not, and today was much more obvious.
