Yesterday morning I woke up to find my 2 month old toulouse goose dead, with the head and neck completely gone. the rest of the body was totally untouched. I found a feather next to it (attached).

I didnt get around to burying it yesterday and this morning the body had been partially eaten (but not mangled) and dragged about 10 feet. I found another feather like the first, so it seems fairly certain to me this was done by some sort of hawk or bird of prey. Anyone know what kind specifically?

I am really surprised a hawk or something could have killed such a large goose! Is this normal? Do hawks hunt at night? Any tips?
