One of my kids came in from the run with one of my favorite hens. Her beak is slightly crooked (new today not scissor beak). Her jaw is extremely swollen and ear lobe purple around edge. Is this dislocated or broken jaw? Has anyone ever treated a chicken with dislocated jaw and them survive? She is still moving her bottom beak. Advice please.

Get some pics up here for others to help assess her. Poor girl, sorry this happened.

Her beak probably moved because of the swelling.
She could have gotten bitten by a bug or something.
Is she acting lethargic at all? Can she eat and drink on her own?

Could she have been shut in a door or injured by another animal like a goat/horse (kicked) if you have any of those?

I'd crate her. Provide water. A bit of wet feed available too, but it doesn't seem like she may be able to eat.
Can she even swallow if you give her drops of water?

Is she not eating or drinking because she can't, or doesn't want to? You'll probably have to feed her yourself.
Do you have any idea how long she's been like this?
she drank some water, but she can't eat the pellets
when the pictures were taken it could not have been more than an hour or 2 the kids are constantly checking in on the chickens

she did not eat the wet food but swallowed drops of water
she may have had a door close on her, but I don't know
