PLEASE HELP!!! is my chicken molting or is something wrong?

As everyone has noted, she is molting. A couple of hand fulls of dry cat food to your entire flock will cause no problems, and it may do some good. Don't be surprised if the entire flock goes into a molt.

I am so glad I found this thread!! I thought one of my girls was being beat up by the others a couple of weeks ago, but she's perfectly fine now. Now I have another one going through the same thing and lookin pretty pitiful, just like in the pictures!! Pretty heartbreaking...

My husband thought they were taking their turns being the low man on the totem pole

She's drinking plenty of water, and I've seen her at the feeders & pecking at the flock block, but the crazy thing is that she has no interest at all in treats like apples & celery & lettuce. That really got me worrying!!

I'll try the handful of cat food a day, also, until she starts filling out again...thanks for the tip! (Then someone else will molt...*sigh*)

I feel so much better now...this too shall pass
