Please help?! Lice or mites?! Picture!

We rescued some 8 month old hens and they are covered in these critters everyone we try to pick them up or my kids touch them we get all these nasty critters on us and in our hair. I don't know if it's lice or mites! Please help also what can we do to get rid of them all?!

You will more than likely have to treat your birds several times to get them under control. Keep your coop as clean as possible to. I treat mine with a louse powder and regularly add DE earth to my coops.
