I ordered 20 mallard duck egg online and they were suppose to hatch on day 27 of incubation which would be the 16 th of July ... As of today it is day 22 of incubation and already 7 of then are shaking!!!! Idk what to doo I have been turning them this whole time bc I never knee they coil hatch thi early!! I opened the incu to do my midnight turning and I turned two of the eggs and then noticed that some of them were rapidly shaking so I stopped and closed the incubator and watched as the eggs shook rapidly !!! Shoul I stop turning them and just go into lockdown? I increased humidity... Will the other two I turned be okay and what will happen to them since I have been tuning them all this time? Do u think they will hatch If I stop turning? Please help me ASAP !!!!!!!

Stop turning them, increase humidity and put them in lock down and leave them be. Incubation for mallards is 22-28 days. Don't open the incubator once they are in lockdown

Ok Ghana so much u don't know how much of a relief that is to hear.. Last time I tried doing mallards they were shaking on day 23 and thy never hatched bc I kept turning:( and now this time shaking on day 22? I was sure I ha done something wrong.. Lol anyway do u think they will e alright even though I have been turning them all day and what do u think I should do about the two uli turned b4 ? Flip them back over

I think they will be fine just don't turn them anymore and just leave the 2 you did as they are. Usually it's not the turning that makes them not hatch it has more to do with temp, humidity and air circulation

Ohh okay right now the temps at 99.7 and the humiditys at 66 but it's still increasing

One more question how long after they start to shake does it usually take for them to hatch

I hatch lots of duck eggs and they hatch different then chicken, they pip the shell and then work on that pip to make a bigger and bigger hole then they zip, but the making hole process can sometimes take 2-3 days!! They rest alot and thats ok because they are usualy absorbing the rest of thier yolk. It's important not to open the bator because then you let the humidity out and they will get stuck in the shells and die.

Ok do u think t an point it will be necessary to help the uckling out bc last time the duckling died in at th piphole point but that could o been bc I was opening it to much..

I never help it just leads to more problems. As long as you don't open the bator they should hatch just fine. You won't get 100% hatch rate some will make it some won't especialy if they were shipped eggs.

alright thank for all you're help !! I guess there's nothing left to do but wait ..
