Hi I have a black araucana and she generally lays every day and yesterday she laid but I do not know exactly at what time. I came home this evening and she did not run up with the other girls so I went to look at her and she let me pick her up (which is very odd because she is the only one that will not let me pick her up and I believe that is just the personality of araucanas) and when I put her back down i noticed she was hobbling and and looked like she was trying to catch flies out of the air or something, so basically just snapping in the air, this stopped once i brought her inside to give her a hot bath. The reason I am not sure if she is egg bound or not is because I am not sure if they can become eggbound in just one day since I know she laid yesterday, and also I had an egg bound silkie a few months ago and they are not at all acting the same... the reasons I think she is eggbound though are that I went inside her vent and felt upwards and felt what felt like a hard egg (when the silkie was egg bound i did not feel this, but she also did not lay a hard egg once she passed the egg it was like a leathery thing). I gave her some water with some crushed up oyster shell through a syringe but she would not eat any food besides corn (was just a surefire way to test and see if she would eat anything). Also, the bath seemed to really stress her out so I don't know if its worth it to give her another one, but i blow dried her after the bath and she seemed to really like that. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
