Have you tried Agway--you can call in advance and check to see--Also try Farmer's markets , livestock and 4h shows in PA--If you only want a couple--Moyer's Hatchery will sell you basic egg layers--nothing fancy --they are in Quakertown and Hoffman Hatchery is in Gratz PA...Every now and then Craigslist--but you might end up with all roosters...

I wanted just 2 buff orpingtons. i searched and searched for them. I didnt want a mail order so finally on craigslist a wonderful man in Lawtey Florida sold me 2 pullets. I drove from jacksonville to lawtey to get them. I have had more luck on craigslist them anywhere, as far as gettting 1 or 2 chickens at a time. I also have been able to re-home roosters via craigslist. I am really fussy and I deliver the roo's cause I want to make sure they will have good homes. I have gotten fertile eggs via BYC before and out of 2 batches sent (10 egs each time) only 2 ended up being fertile. Woe is me but the 2 that hatched are 2 of the sweetest lil chickens. One is a white cochin cockerel and the other was a mutt.
