Please help me determine gender Muscovy ducks

Most muscovy can be sexed by 2-3 months, especially if there are both sexes, the size difference starts to become more apparent.

These are Muscovy no tail curl. And no quack.

Right, I was just talking in general...with my Muscovies, the drakes have more face masking and they hiss, my hen do a faint coo noise..so sweet. But that takes many months.

Size different, and if one starts making trilling calls vs baby calls - mama where are you ! - female. Like others have said, muscovys dont quack and they dont get a drake feather. The males get HUGE and the females tiny compared to the males, but huge compared to some mallard derived.

They are to young to tell atm by looking at pictures - when they get about 2-3 months old it's easier to tell them apart then. BUT that being said - I had my white muscovy, sodapop, sexed when I got her and they told me she was male... she never trilled or made any of those cute female noises, and then 7-8 months later started popping out eggs.

10 to 12 weeks is about the youngest they can be sexed. Boys will start outgrowing their sisters at that time.

Can I ask why you need their sexing? Is it because you are worried about the smaller one’s size? Their are many vitamins s to help along with their all over growth, etc. Lite Vit B complex...but that could be discussedi if that’s what you want. But, sometimes being smaller is simply just is what is what it is. Is she sickly, slower, not eating? Large farms like Metzer obviously sex ducks, I’ve watched many videos on it, but could not do it by looking at a picture on the computer. People on here are able to sex chicks pretty young, but chicks are different. With ducks, I’ve found, you kind of have to wait until the tail curls, the feathers change colors, the quack gets louder. But, if someone on here can do it from pictures!! That’s awesome!

Not worried that the small one is sick was just saying I’m pretty sure it’s a female we already have 2 full grown Muscovy drakes and I need to make sure we aren’t going to have too many drakes to females I’m trying to be prepared is all.

I had Pekins awhile back and the tail feather was how I could tell prolly about but Muscovys don’t like to make it easy
