I was wondering that about the black chicks - the red feathers. They were very skittish when we first got them. Today was the first day I got into the coop with them, and they calmed down quite a bit. I think with a little work, they will be pretty tame.

The barred chicks are definitely skittish!

With treats and time you'll have some very nice brown eggs.

Someone just yesterday said that once they start laying they calm right down and I agree.

The four black ones could be Black Sex Links, but the green sheen and lack of any reddish feathers on the necks strongly points towards Black Australorps. The other two are definitely Barred Rocks.
