One of my RIRs has been acting differently lately. She barely eats and has become the slowest chicken I have ever seen. She doesn't hold her tail down as if she is tired. She still comes outside, but she usually just stands there with her feathers ruffled out like shes cold. Any ideas?

She has been closing her eyes a lot lately. I gave her some scrambled eggs with olive oil, as well as sugar water because we have been having huge hawks lately so I thought it might have been because of shock. I don't think so anymore.

I would start by looking for mites, lice or any signs of internal worms. What does her crop feel like? What does her poop look like? What color is her comb? Diet? Sometimes it is helpful to isolate for a day and night so you can evaluate exactly what and how much she is eating and pooping and what not.

It is possible that she is egg bound. I know that when chickens are egg bound a lot of people put them in a tub of luke warm water to try and comfort them and sometimes it helps the egg come out. That really the only thing that i can think of, I mean in that picture she looks perfectly healthy. Hope everything works and she starts to feel better.

This is what her poop looks like, its been kinda watery before but never like this. When I let her out to see if she wanted to soak in the tub for a bit (I had kept her in the coop all day with the scrambled eggs and water), she threw up a brown liquid. Her comb is still red, but its a little faint on the top in the back.

I feed her Layered pellets along with the others for her diet and sometimes a piece of wheat bread.

Is her crop full and very soft and squishy? The fact that she threw up a liquid makes me think it could be impacted or sour crop.

Ok, so I went out to check on her and she was still up there. I tried to pick her up but she kept fighting me to stay on the stick. She has never fought me to do anything! Shes always been the scaredy-cat type. When I gave up, she was breathing really hard. I don't know if it was because she was fighting me too hard or something else.
