Please help me find a way to keep my roo. *long-ish* *pics*

I am also a young person living at home with my parents and I had been giving my roosters that I got in shippments of chicks away for about a year and a half. I live in the suburbs and I was afraid my neighbors would be anoyed by crowing. A month ago I decided to buy a Black Ameraucana rooster who is fully grown while my parents where away

I bought him with some pullets so I could sell hatching eggs and now I building a great breeding flock. He has become a flock leader and helps keep the girls safe from predators and keeps them from fighting to much. My rooster crows only a few times each morning and really doesn't bother people that much. I do usually lock him in a cat carrier in the shed at night so he cannot crow very early in the morning. Good luck I went to all my neighbors to ask forgivness for getting the rooster. Now I am planning on adding a second breeding group with two cockeral (we will see I may have to sell them). I convinced my parents that it was alright after I got him so it doesn't really help. But I would say that you should make a case to them about how Roosters can keep your flock safe and if you lock him up at night he won't crow super early in the morning.

I saw a rooster box on another thread. It's a heavily insulated 3'x3'x3' box with room for a perch and food/water. They put their roo to bed in it so he doesn't wake the neighbors too early with his crowing. That might help if it's just the early morning crowing that is causing problems. Good luck!
