One of our Ducklings hatched early, and He's doing ok as of right now. But while it was in the incubator it flopped around in the incubator all night and rolled the eggs all over the place. :/ I'm worried that it might of killed the other ducklings. is this ok?? One seems to move but the others are not moving anymore. and also how long can they go over their hatch date?? Its been about 30 days. and they were all moving when the one hatched but now they are not all moving anymore! PLease help if you know anything!!! very worried!
Thank you!

Hopefully they are all okay and I doubt your duckling did any harm. but please post this on this thread you may get answers faster. and all the best ..https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...own-as-hatch-day-is-today/37790#post_11181189

Thank you! I did, but no one has said anything yet. I just hope they are all ok.. but do u know if its normal for all the eggs to go over 30 days?

No it's not normal. Usually means that the incubator temp was a little too low. Candle the remaining eggs poke a small hole in the air sac side of the shell and see if they're still alive and need help. Mist with water to raise the humidity after you've opened the incubator.

what would you poke a hole in the egg with?? is it going kill it? Do I go ahead and help it out? Im new at this!

Personally, I wouldn't poke a hole in the shell unless you can see that they have internally pipped into the air cell (you will see shadows in the air cell when candling). If you get a really bright flashlight you should be able to see if they are still alive without opening the shell.

if all the eggs were put in the bator at the same time i would mist the eggs again and waite and see if any more pip marks appear on the out side of the shell after a couple of days .. if so it may take as long as 24 hours for them to enlarge the hole and make their way out..

if they can not seem to manage getting out .. after pip mark appears carefuly start peeling a little bit of the shell away at a time at the mark if any blood appears stop and waite for at least 15 minutes then procede even more slowly.. try peeling the shell from the other side of the pipmark. if the dukling is sticky there was not enough humidity .. if a duckling is not even strong enough to make a pip mark in the shell it more than likly will not be strong enough to live even ifyou get it succesfuly out of the shell..

most often duckling peeping and rolling around trying to get out and knocking into other eggs causes no harm it simplly wakes the other ducklings up into hatching action.

also just mist the remaining un hatched eggs to mutch water will fill the pores of the eggs and cut off their oxygen ..
