Good morning all,
It looks as if Ferdis feet are getting better. Not entirely sure what treatment helped, as we have done a few small things. Now I notice that he has a bad eye infection unfortunately on the same side that his leg was week on, and now for some reason he cant extend his wings fully. And he does really weird neck movements while eating. I have mupirocin ointment USP 2%, and I was wondering if that would be something I could use on his eye, as he is completely stubborn and keeps his eyelids closed when he sees the eye drop bottle.. I'm starting to stress. Any ideas help,. Thank you

It looks like he hasn't been able to dip his head in water. Do you have deep water for them? you can use vetericyn in his on the eyes he might have a sinus infection. Have you checked if he has any bubbly eye? What have you been feeding them? He could have also got in contact with mold.

Check his food and litter for any mold.

Good morning, yes he has deep water to dip his head in. Right now he is living in my deep bathtub that I clean all day long. Yes he does have a bubbly eye on the right side as well. Mupirocin ointment is used to treat skin infections like staph. It. An be used oh humans such as on the eye. I have to use it inside of my nose as I have no septum, to keep staph bacteria out of my nose. And it can be used in any open wound. That's why I courious if I can use just a little bit around the corner of his eye.

I also am courious on how you guys keep your ducks calm to treat feet and eye drops and cream as such. Can I use a vet tape using 1 wrap around his bill so that he cant bite or nip (as he is very mad @ me) and how do you wrap their wings so that he is as comfortable as I can possibly make him to check him out fully

I use a large towel to wrap my ducks in like a burrito when I need to do anything to them. If you have a biter I see nothing wrong with using vet wrap vets muzzle dogs that bite. Sounds like the ointment would be fine to use around the eye. I tell you another thing that can help with foamy eye is Apple Cider vinegar 1 tablespoon to a gallon of water for head washing at that strength it will not sting and can kill some bacteria. Unpasteurized.

I put them under my arm in the showmanship pose it keeps them clam
it shows it in the beginning its easyer if you have someone to hold him like that in then put the drops on. Or hold them sideways like that

That k you, he is doing much bette . We were finally able to move him outside into his old pen next to his friends. Then we noticed he has a prolapsed private. How do I help him with this. Or do we wait for it to fall off or do I rubber band it in Hope's that it will not get infected. I'm at a loss again. I tried Epsom salt baths, neosporin, but he dosent like it at all. Please help
