My hens were laying great then stopped and haven’t laid no eggs in the last 2 months so I sold a bunch of them. A few days later I talked to the buyer and he said there was all kinds of eggs from them. He feeds the same thing I do. I free range. This happened once before to and they said the hens were the best layers. Help me understand. The hens I still have still aren’t laying. I feel like throwing in the towel and selling out for good.

Have you checked for hidden nests?
Is your coop secure and ventilated? Any stressors like dogs or loud noises?
No everything is the same as it’s always been. Same coop same run. I let them out to free range. Same dogs we always had. I live back in the hills so plenty to eat. I don’t understand why they stop laying here but lay after I sell them. Could elevation affect chickens? But I don’t see how since they were laying more than enough in June.

No hidden nests. That’s what I thought so I kept them penned up for the last couple weeks and still no eggs.

What exactly do you feed and how much do they get?

Are your chickens molting? Usually, my hens stop laying when they molt. Sometimes your hens egg production slows down or else they just don't lay at all for about a few weeks to a month.

Just give them a little time and they should be laying anytime soon!
