You guys think the second one is a buff orpington? (that's what BO stands for, yes?) She was sold as a cochin, her legs are very fluffy. Don't know much about breeds yet. Just really want them to be hens, not roosters, and thank you for replying to my thread, I feel very reassured and RELIEVED!!!

Thank you, Jferlisi! We are certainly very lucky, Goat is the sweetest smartest chicken, who thinks she is human. I am in love with her personality!

As long as the first one is 100% barred rock, it is a female. If it is a mix, it could still be a roo since the barring can't be used as a sexing trait in mixes. The second one looks like a pullet. If you notice any charging, you may have a roo.
