You don't need to rotate the eggs that are inside the carton. Just raise up alternate ends of the carton every 12 hours. You can turn the whole carton around to have the opposite end up on the book, or move the book so it's under the opposite side of the carton.
Again, all this effort isn't necessary, but I think it helps optimize the chances for the eggs to hatch.
