Please help, Muscovy eggs are piping and I screwed up!!!

Btw when should the duckling start walking? She is right now under her mother and I think the mother duck wont be going anywhere for long until the other eggs hatch, the second egg seems ok

Probably won't see alot of movement till day 2 or 3 when mama will show duckling food and water. so put both close by so mama doesn't have to go far from nest. Make sure duckling can't climb into anything with water in it they can chill and drown pretty quick at this stage.

I am a bit worried, the mother is still sitting on the other two eggs. Also he can walk now and stuff!!

Btw what to feed him??? I cant go out and buy duck food cause its public holiday everywhere. What can i give him from home?? (Dw i wont give him bread)

Let's see - how old is the duckling, and how long do Muscovy hatchlings go on the egg yolk? I have read that mallard-derived ducklings can go 24 hours or more.

I started giving him plain oats and lettuce and stuff. He eat some oats and then an ant fell into his water bowl and he went straight for it. He is been walking around exploring and picking those ants. Soooo cuteee. Btw good news guys, the second egg is piping

Great news soon the first will have a buddy. what do you feed the rest of your flock? you want to not feed layer too much calcium, but other poultry feed would be okay but starter or an all flock would be best, will mama be able to take babies outside to forage once they all hatch? then she'll also help them find food to go along with the feed you supply. very important those ducklings get a good start with good feed, oats will need to be ground up if you try feeding them but it isn't a nutritionally sound diet and lettuce unless the little one had grit shouldn't be fed, they have no way to grind it up with out grit.

I had a public holiday when mine hatched too! I made egg and biscuit. Boiled egg, breadcrumbs and crushed up biscuit, anything from arrowroot to crackers. I think I used unsalted saos and scotch fingers. It does in a pinch. Doing great, love the pics!
