Hi I woke up this morning and my 3-4 week old polish chick was sitting down with heads completey turned upside down. It can't seem to hold its head up at all, and when she does it twists back around to the right, back to an upside down position. It seems completely off balance and can only crawl backwards, as it can't stand up, an it drags its poor little head along the floor. However my other chick, is doing fine.

The chick is still eating, drinking and pooping. I do have to syringe water in its mouth every hour or so just to make sure it's drinking enough.
As soon as I seen my chick behaving like this I took it straight to the vet - they said they were no experts on chickens and guessed it may be a middle ear infection, as tthe outer ear seemed fine. The vet did an all over check and said the bird seems healthy in every other way. I have been prescriped antibiotics for her.

....... But after doing some online checking since the vet appointment, I think it may be wry neck?? I cant seem to find any information on how to treat my chick properly and not sure how long this wry neck will last? does it clear up, and how long will thi go on for?

I can't stand to see my little chick like this..... I would really appreciate the help :)

Polish chickens can have neurological issues due to the crested nature of the breed. I know nothing about Polish birds, but I do know that. You may want to do further research on this.

I have a barred rock that is 4 weeks old has been doing well up until today when I notice her in the brooder with her 4 other barred sisters and her 4 duck brothers and sisters. She is drink on her own she eats good but what I noticed was her head was on occassion dropping down like she is having a seizure and then she drags the top of her head as she moves backwards like she is going crazy. She then will be normal acting. Does anyone have a clue as to what this is. I thought it was a symptom of avian bird flu but she does not have problems with coordination like bird flu says.
