Hi! I have a lab mix! She eats blue dog food! It has always worked really well for her! And have never had any problems with this food! She is over weight but I have started trying to get a hand on that! Last night she threw up a lot! I mean a lot and ruined two rugs!!? And today she keeps acting weird trying to go in my sisters closet! She never does that and there is nothing in that closet!!?? Can someone please tell me what might be going on! She has not had anything that she was not supposed to have!!?? She is around 7 years old! I can’t take her to the vet because of corona!? What do I do!!!????? Please someone help!!?

Hi, I’m sorry about your dog! I’m not a vet but maybe I can help? Did you notice anything in the throw up like grass?
One time I threw some coconut cream that had gone bad into the bushes and later found that my dog had thrown up a HUGE pile of mush. Turns out he got into the coconut cream, but he was fine. It was terrifying for me though, it looked like all that throw up wouldn’t have fit in his body!
How many times did your dog throw up? I’m not sure about the closet thing but maybe let her in and see what she was interested in?

Another thing is if you’ve abruptly switched her to a different food that could make her sick. Its nothing to worry about in that case, just slowly add more and more to her regular food until your only feeding the new stuff.

I don't know much about dogs, but this is the first thing that comes to mind: has she been spayed? To me, increased weight, throwing up, and trying to get into a dark space (nesting behavior?) sounds similar to pregnancy. But again, I have little experience in this and am just throwing out ideas. I hope you figure out whatever this is soon!

I am Not a vet but can try to help. As a rule, view Your dogs symptoms as a total picture. Vomiting means not feeling well, but are there other symptoms. Fever? Is she drinking? Being overweight, I think you’d be ok for no food until stomach settles. Does she have loose stools? Is she painful? If the combination of symptoms creates a picture that would send you to the er, the she should go also.

The biggest dangers with the symptoms are a 1. blockage, which if you know she didn’t get into anything shouldn’t be the case 2. Bloat which will cause her stomach to expand with bas that she cannot release. She will become Very painful and listless. This doesn’t sound like the case. Dehydration is not really a problem yet in an otherwise healthy adult. You have sometime due to her being in good shape before.

I hope this helps.

thank I everyone! I am taking her to the vet today because I woke up to a lot of throw up everywhere! It’s clear like water! She is trying to drink a lot of water but a few mins later it all comes back up! She won’t eat her fav food! She’s not even gaging it’s just coming threw her lips! She can’t hold water down and I’m worried!! Thank u everyone! Oh and yes she is spayed!
