So this is my third year hatching eggs in my class. We started with 7 eggs. I candled them at week one and only found one viable. The mom brought in more that she had in her incubator so they would be on the right day. I candled again a week later and found three viable eggs. On day 20 the first on hatched, day 21 the second. I candled again and it looked like day 15 so I thought I lost it. I decided to wait five days after the first hatching just to see. I was going to toss it today and candled one last time....it has changed. It looks darker (completely fills egg) and a defined air sack. It hasn't been turning since lock down 7 days ago (Although his sister did play soccer with it when she was first hatched). What do I do? Five days late but still looks like it is growing I am keeping the temp and humidity up. I tried the float test and couldn't see any movement.

Air cell will continue to grow even with no viable chick inside, from simple evaporation.

Dead eggs also fill with darkness.

If it hasn't internally pipped by now.. I would not expect viability.

My experience says unplug the bator and move on... but it's a very personal choice! :fl

My fear is that when we got the second batch of eggs that one was not incubated at the right time and this may be on a different cycle.
