i've got 5 eggs in my still air incy, and we're upto day 18, so i've stopped turning them. Its just that yesterday I candled them to have a peek and they looked more like they were at day 15 stage rather than day 18.

Around day ten we had a power cut for at least 6 hours and although I covered the incy, the eggs were cold to the touch by the time the power returned. Gutted, i continued to incubate the eggs till it was dark enough to candle them and I found them all to still be moving.

Now im wonderingwhether that cold period has set them back and I should continue to turn them, or whether to just wait and see what happens, confused!!!!!!

You could turn them one more day.

Then, leave them be.

I had a power outage here to. I lost one but the other three are doing good. Today is my last day to turn because tomarrow is day 18.

Is it likely that they have been set back ???

How long should i expect?

The power outage should not of set them back. Go with the original schedule. I think it is very encouraging that they are all still moving after having power out for that long! Very good! So treat today as day 18.

The power going out could of set them back a little, I would stop turning them and up the hum on day 19. Good luck

If they dont hatch right on time give them a few extra days !!

if ya have a power outage, remember hot water bottles have kept other baby animals warm during the outage.. might be able to put hot water next to the eggs.? maybe?

wrap the bator in insulating material bubble wrap is good too. til the return of electircty
