please help, one of my hens has a large lump on her right shoulder

umm my hen has a pretty big lump sticking out of the shoulder. today one of my hens had to be put down cause i found out she had alot of hard crusted tumurs on her so after i buried her i checked all of my other chooks and one of them has a lump sticking out of her skin just after the shoulder its not hard and crusted like the hen that got put down but has normal skin covering it im worried and i need help about it i dont want to have to lose another hen.
i want to take her to the vet but mum keeps saying that vets dont know much about chooks

so plz some answers

Where near the shoulder is this lump? Have you considered that it might be the crop? If its not the crop, covered with normal skin and it isn't bothering the hen then I would take a "wait and see" approach. Separate her from the rest of the flock if you feel its necessary.

i had the same problem with a batch of speckled sussex hens, 2 out of the 11 ended up with some weird tumor, on had it on the wing and the other on the breast, they both died, it was right after they started laying, i thought they were abscesses to i did some sterile surgery on them, i poked it with a needle witha syringe on it, i was a vet tech for years, now a nurse go figure, anyway no pus or drainage, i just let them go and they both died, i wonder if it was a genetic thing, anyway tumors on birds aren't good! i hope things get better though

my chook is okay now i took her to the vet now and it was filled with pus it was so gross any way shes better now
