I love my buff Orpingtons, they are one of my favorite breeds. They are good all around birds.
I will be getting some of those this spring then

Mine have always been nice, but I read otherwise from other people. My second flock was buff Orpingtons and silver laced Wyandottes. They were a nice flock. I have currently silver laced, gold laced and blue laced red Wyandottes, and all don't cause any troubles in my multiple breed flock. They aren't exactly great layers though, they are average to poor for the blue laced, but are pretty to look at.
I have three 5 yr old black sex links and from day three I had to seperate them. I had 12 chicks and two black sexlinks caused a bloddy mess in my brooder. Non died just pecked. I observed and had to seperate the two into their own brooder. To this day they have their own coop and run. Ive tried to join them with the others in the runs and free range to see if they have out grown this behavior and they were completely out of control. Very aggressive and i still have them seperated. One of the black sexlinks has been sweet heart. A farmer once said to me "They would do better in a pot" . At that early stage of my new chicken keeping, I was mortified. Nooowwwww things have changed for me and I have a better sence of humor. Lol The chickens did supply great eggs. Lots of hard work. Hope this helped. I did post something about them a couple of years ago.
