So 5 of my eggs where suppose to hatch thursday so today is day 23 and i see no movement. one egg was suppose to hatch yesterday and then one today and the one today is hatching. the ones on day 23 i think are dead but the one from yesterday i think is still alive cant open and check till this other egg is done. when this one is done and i can check the other if there's movement and it has pipped through the membrane can i assist and puntcure a whole in the egg? other wise im pretty sure its a goner. So FRUSTRATED these are all fully formed chicks!!!!!!!~ WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? MAYBE CAUSE THERE SHIPPED EGGS?

What are you hatching?

I find some breeds are difficult to hatch, like Black Copper Marans.

It could be that your humidity is too high during incubation and they drown before they can externally pip.

It could be a lot of things, shipped eggs are always a gamble.

There bantam frizzles. If the one is still alive should I puncture a whole in the shell I can see its beak when I candle?

Im so upset! I think its something im doing cause why would the fully form and then die and day 22. It has to be to much humidity. Im thinking about doing dry hatch. I always fill all my channels up in my lil giant throughout the whole time.

I had all of mine die in hatch day. Mine died due to bacteria. Did you always wash your hands before handling? Or did the eggs come in contact with bacteria? Mine got bacteria from when my bator fell and a few eggs cracked on the other eggs.

Congrats on the two chicks :)
I have never had a good experience with shipped eggs. Als, it helps to handle all hatching eggs with laytex gloves, our hands have oils in them that even washing doesn't get rid of.

I recommend you try your next batch with either the dry or semi-dry method. If you go semi-dry don't incubate over 30% humidity, then hatch around 50-60%.

Try a batch of local eggs if you can find any, then work your way up to shipped eggs as you gain more experience.
