I found my 9 week old chick lying on the floor of the coop 5 days ago. I moved her inside and keep her clean and dry. She won't eat or drink on her own and can't stand. I have been using an eye dropper and forcing her to take in a few drops of water with electrolytes and alternating collidal silver or St. johns wort. I've been trying to give her yogurt and molasses too. She will only take a minute amount of each. Is there anything else I can be doing? She's still alert and moving her head, occasionally kicking, but can't get up on her own. She was like this a few weeks ago too but bounces back in a day. She's so light now as she's really not eaten hardly anything in 5 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

ELECTROLYTES! Get it at your local feed store ASAP! Its a powder you mix in their water. If you can get a dog cage or something like it, anything to confine her in small area with no escape. Wrap her in a towel and put her electrolyte water and food in there. Also get a spray bottle or mister's and spray her down every so often. And keep her in shade. If there is no progress I recommend taking her to a vet!

Thanks for the tip! I do have her in a small space and I've been putting "chick boost" (baby chick electrolytes) in her water. She won't eat or drink on her own- that's the problem. She has access but chooses not to. That's where I come in with the eye dropper- and force it down her mouth. She resists- and pretty hard too, which is comforting to see that she still has energy to fight. She's inside my house so temperature isn't really an issue, but good idea on the spray bottle!
