I don't know how she got herself there, but I found my 9 wk old Auracana wedged in between the fence and a plastic planter - not moving. We got her out and she seemed okay - limping around some, and small bare spot on her back, but I had to go off to work and could not observe her. When I checked on her 3 hours later her whole side was opened. No skin. I'm pretty sure that the other girls were pecking her. There don't seem to be any punctures wounds, but no skin either. I brought her inside and let her rest for the night and this morning put some water/sodium peroxide on her side. She's mostly resting, but has eaten a little and had some water. I'm not sure if I should get some antibiotics. I called the local farm store and they don't have anything. I would like to know what kind of antibiotic I should get for this. I'm also VERY squeamish!!!

I don't have any experience with trauma, but I've read here that neosporin with out pain relief, can be used. Also keep her inside and quiet till she heals. It's amazing what some chickens will survive. Antibiotics are probably a good idea to prevent infection. Good luck.

Imp- there are lots of posts about treating trauma. Maybe try searching past threads about injuries.
