Yesterday, my husband decided to paint the inside of the door to the chickens run. I had told him to lock the girls in their house while he worked and not to let them out until it dried. He didn't listen. Now two of the birds must have rubbed up against the wet paint and it's on their feathers. I'm worried about how toxic this substance is and how I can (or if I can) get it off. Please help. Thank you.

I would leave it alone. Paints are not that toxic these days, if at all, and I doubt they can absorb much if anthing through feathers. I'd be afraid of doing more harm trying to remove it than it will do.

It was actually a paint/stain. They seem ok. I just tried wiping them down with all natural moistened wipes. It wasn't coming off an I didn't want to stress them. It's raining like crazy here and I think because of that the paint isn't drying well. We just took rags and wiped it all down so whatever was wet still has come off. Thank you for the advice.
