I'm back, yet again... this just hasn't been my week. No sleep,a paralized dog, sick chicken and now a sick quail? I found Jumper my male button quail "sleeping" on the bottom of his enclosure and was able to "pet" him... he's very jumpy and fearful, so this was a wierd. I thought he was deeply asleep at first, until I tried to pick him up and he seemed frozen and cold. (He's an indoor pet btw)

I linked a video of me petting him. Mind you, I thought it was cute... the end of the video I realized he's not alright..

I gave him some B12 and put a warm glove next to him in a heated room... any other suggestions? I tried calling around for vets for my chicken and no one is available, so I can't take the quail anywhere either. I'm not sure what's wrong with him either as he's been acting normally. He has unlimited access to high protein food and water and has had no interaction with my sick chicken. (And I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with her!)

Please, any help is appreciated... this has just been a hectic week overall and I really don't want to lose any more of my babies this year if possible... thank you in advance

It may be something as simple as low glucose. That can cause these symptoms. Give him warm sugar water right now and warm a fuzzy cloth in the dryer or microwave and wrap him in it like a burrito. Be sure it's not hot enough to burn skin.

This should revive him in an hour. If not, he may have gotten something bad and ate it. Do you have a toddler that might have dropped something into his enclosure?

No small children. I'll try giving him the sugar water asap. Thank you!!
