Hello Guys. On day 25 and two of the eggs have had a massive change in the air sac (since yesturday). It is now dipped quite dramatically and we can see movement at the very edge of one of the air cell (the chick moving its body/beak?).

We are panicking a little. These eggs are only on day 25, should we still be rolling the eggs (the incubator) or should we turn it off? These two appear to be more advanced than the other ones are, who have not much of a dip at all yet.

Please help, what should we do? Humidity is at 50% (and has been through out the process as they would loose too much weight if we had done it dry). Should we go into lockdown?
Thanks

And a deep breath. phew.

Increased the humidity (at about 63%). Rocker still on but going to turn it off tonight and re-candle the eggs to see how the others are doing. Then going into lockdown tonight.

No external signs yet. Im so excited!

you dont have to lock them down till they have internally pipped. If they have you can see their beak in the aircell and hear a clicking noise that means they are learning to breath air. REMEMBER geese take days to go from shadowing to baby. Mine average 4-5 days from when I first notice a change in the aircell

and YES read Pete's guide! It will help with the nerves. GOOD LUCK!

Thank you. I have read petes instructions. Just having one of those "Oh my god" moments! Will be candling again tonight to see how things are progressing.

It is very depressing that I can only find one person (mainly) on utube who has done videos showing her looking after her goose eggs.

Anyone know anywhere else I can find good videos?

An update. Some movement from the eggs in the incubator but not internal pipping yet. the eggs under my broody hen have externally pipped! Yay. I know two are in the process of hatching under her,not sure about the third one yet. Makes me worry abit as all the eggs were set the same time.it just goes to show a broody hen is better than the incubator(so far).
