this is our 2 week old baby keet, when we go to change food and water they run away and refuse to be touched

But this morning this chick was just sitting there, and didnt do anything when we went to change water.. She is hardly moving, and not eating and drinking

One of the four chicks died un expectantly, and after inspection we found small white/clear bugs.. This was about 4 days ago, and on that day we brought "poultry lice and mite powder" and covered them in it..

Now the sick chick is inside and after inspection it has got orangy/red bugs that are bigger..

The sick chick has liquid white poos.. Someone please help?

the chicks age is the worst problem. someone else may know more of what to do.

i myself would try to give it a bath with dog shampoo. give it some yogurt or probiotics. some save a chick or electrolytes wouldn't hurt anything either.

It's recovered now:) I'm guessing it was anemic..
I've covered it in the powder 4 times yesterday, but I still saw live bugs on them.. I've had a look about an hour ago and I can't see any on them so far, the chicks live outside with the mother but we are suspecting she is covered as the brooder is covered in feathers. As the chicks are so young we have taken them away from her as we keep in treating her with the powder but she keeps getting them

bugs are hard to get rid of, you have to treat the birds, bedding and coop. if its available and you aren't organic, ivomec works well on chickens. i use it on the chickens, whitewash the coop with lime water, change bedding and add Diatomaceous earth and seven dust (garden insect dust) in low doses to the bedding.

i don't eat my eggs, we hatch and sell chicks. so what you do with this information is up to you.

All yesterday I treated the chicks with the powder 4 times, the chick was anemic I think but she has recovered!:) I have such a love for animals that it would have crushed me if she died we have sprayed down the pen with the recommended " lice and mite" stuff and poured the powder stuff over the pen as well..to save the chicks I've taken them away from mum and they are living inside, other wise the chicks will die..as I had a chick die the day we put the powder first on them (after inspection of the chick that's how we found the mites). Thank you for your help I really do appreciate it, ill go and get some ivomec today and put it on the chicks

i don't know how safe the ivomec is for chicks, they say its hard to overdose but its made for cattle. if the chicks are under 3 or 4 months, and it was my last resort i would give them about 1/8 ml. make sure it gets to their skin. typically you have to reapply it in 10 days to kill the "hatchling bugs". don't worm while using this- its a wormer too.

They are only 2 weeks, well nearly 3 weeks.. \The mite powder seems to be working so far, now that they are inside but ill get the ivomec just encase it doesn't work, the powder isn't safe for the chicks as well but it had to be done
