Please help!! We are new to this & looking for help with laws and ordinances and so much more

We are new to this and I have been looking for what the laws are in my area. I live in an unincorporated part of Plainfield IL but I am part of Wheatland TWP. Does anyone know what they are? Any help would be great!!! Also any advice you have for us on raising our chickens would be great!! I would love to hear what everyone else does!! Thank you so much

Wheatland doesn't allow chickens. Only for 4-H and educational purposes; permit required to allow 90 day outdoor keeping of hens only.

So you own land in both towns and pay taxes to both? Just keep the chickens on Plainfield side.

Thank you so much!! I have 2 roosters that are young that the girlfriend of mine had to get rid of ASAP and to tell ya the truth I dont really want both of them but I dont know anyone who will take them. They are starting to fight from time to time

Yeah thats what my husband keeps saying but I would rather try and find someone to take them before we have to eat them

Well hello there, neighbor! Fancy seeing you on this website! I'm sure you know that things have just started to hit the fan for our neighbor. I haven't received a formal complaint from the County, have you? This means it is time to take action and banned together to push for a formal ordinance in Wheatland township that is pro-chicken. I think we should have a meeting some time this week to discuss a course of action. Let Kindra know if you can be involved and when we can sit down together to work on a plan. Do you know anyone else in our area that is pro- backyard chickens? If so, SPREAD THE WORD! We will need as much support as we can get.
